Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP)
http://www.pcp.org.pk
The powerful notion of philanthropy for development in Pakistan,
underlined by the need to reduce dependence on external aid, emerged in
1998 with the Aga Khan Development Network's "Initiative on Indigenous
Giving". PCP was established in August 2001 as a direct outcome of the
subsequent "Conference on Indigenous Philanthropy", held in Islamabad in
October 2000. Rather than engaging in direct philanthropy, PCP seeks to
help others in their philanthropic efforts through meaningful support
services. PCP's current programmes include the Philanthropy Support
Services Programme, the Certification Programme and the Research
Programme.
